Laptops are soooo last century. Better off get a SP7 than any 13-inch laptop.

  3. Too bad they're still firmly planted in the last century with their lack of WWAN. In another review I saw that the keyboard surface bends at the lightest touch. Can you confirm that?

The Surface Laptops look so stylish and with a really high build quality…. Probably most people / businesses just pick the base models, hence why the price jumps so much in higher configurations… Though there are sales quite often….

Nice review David! Kudos for having the Rivatuner overlay on!
I've always wanted to try this laptop and I would be all over that Ryzen model.
I tested the latest Surface Book and was left disappointed because it performs the same as its predecessor but was more expensive. Plus, as you say you can upgrade this yourself. Awesome job!

….take it from a longtime surface-line user: 8gb is not enough

The great work you put in your video content is very much appreciated. One downside of Alcantara for the SL4 is it's bouncy when you type towards the middle of the keyboard, this wasn't the case in previous models. This takes away of the premium feeling. Nonetheless it's a very nice keyboard to type on.

One thing most reviewers never touch upon in reviews is the bottom plate heat. I would like to know your thoughts on heat output on the Ryzen model vs. the Intel i5 model. I am considering this laptop for my son. He likes to place his current lenovo yoga laptop on the bed and it always suffocates the venting and causes excessive heat and burnt electronics smell. I really feel bottom plate heat index should be evaluated on all laptops. Noting is more uncomfortable working on than a hot laptop on your lap.

I am between Macbook Air M1, SL Go and SL 4 Ryzen 16gb. I really prefer windows over OS but many say SL is not worth it. What do you think?

    Nice Review!

Q: Will these specs be enough for learning 3D using Blender? I think I saw you meddling with some application in your review.

One reason to consider the amd chip over the Intel chip is the battery life
Even though the Intel chip is faster the battery is more efficient on the Ryzen chip.
